30 Days of Gratitude

What are you grateful for? Seems like an easy enough question to answer and most of us would probably start rattling off the obvious: our families, spouses, our friends, our health, careers, etc. If you really dial it down a bit more though and go beneath the surface of the first things that come to mind you will be amazed to see just how much more there is to the concept of gratitude. I came across a 30 Day Gratitude Challenge image on Pinterest at the beginning of this month and it was all I needed to prompt myself to dig a little deeper...

Since it's a 30 Day Challenge you can start it really at any time-it doesn't have to be the first of the month. If you are reading this and you are from the US, starting on the first of November could be a great way to usher in the spirit of Thanksgiving which is my all time favorite holiday by the way. For me, every morning before I start my day I check out what the prompt is and I spend a little time thinking about my answer. What I love the most about the challenge is that the wording is changed up for most of the days. For example, some of the prompts ask you what you are most grateful for so there is a qualifier there. Some of them ask you about something specific that happened that day. Some of the prompts make you think of the simplest and smallest type of things that we all have or experience in our daily lives but we are just too busy to literally stop and think about them-let alone actually say that we are grateful for them! I started the challenge at the beginning of this month and now that I am exactly half way through I wanted to share it with all of you. It's a great way to express gratitude on a daily basis even if it's for the simple things that we often time take for granted. Take the time out this month to see what it is that YOU are truly grateful for!
