If you are looking for THE ultimate dining experience in the city of Athens this summer look no further than Kuzina Restaurant. Located at the foot of the Acropolis on Adrianou Street, Kuzina is a perfect juxtaposition of where the old meets the new. Housed in a gorgeous Neo-Classical building off of the meandering cobblestone streets that wind through the city of Athens, Kuzina is set up to impress just from a sheer location perspective. The gastronomy and delight that await you inside is the icing on the proverbial cake! Walking around this area is like stepping back in time where you can actually FEEL the history, the culture, and the sheer LIFELINE of the city. I mean I don't think it's possible to NOT be charmed in this area of the city. It is pure magic. Read on for my amazing experience at Kuzina, Athens.
Let's start with the gastronomic delight that Kuzina serves up on EVERY single plate on the menu. Executive chef Aris Tsanaklidis does not know HOW to disappoint. The menu is an eclectic and flavorful fusion of modern gourmet with hints of traditional Greek and Mediterranean flavors weaved throughout every dish. I selected the sliced octopus and fennel carpaccio as an appetizer and the spicy tuna with ginger, wasabi, and tahini as my main course. The dishes were nothing short of amazing, beautifully presented, fresh, and cooked to perfection. The menu is filled with a variety of delectable appetizers, salads, main dishes and of course, desserts to fit even the most discerning palette. Kuzina also lists any ingredients or food items that may cause allergens on their menu and menus are provided in both Greek and in English.
The atmosphere though really sets Kuzina apart from any other fine dining experience in Athens. The rooftop called The Tarazza is an intimate and gorgeous space where you can dine under the stars with unbelievable views of the Acropolis. Whether you are having lunch or dinner or a carefully crafted cocktail at the bar you really can't beat the views and the feeling that this space delivers.
In addition to the food, Kuzina boasts an art gallery on the 2nd floor of the restaurant called Porta. Here you can browse beautiful works of art, and you can purchase if you are so inclined. Just another extra that adds to the charm of this place. Finally, with an outpost in Mykonos located at The Mykonos Ammos Hotel at Ornos Beach, you can enjoy the culinary experience that is Kuzina if you are planning a trip the cosmopolitan island of the winds. XO!
