Spring Getaway to Roanoke Island, NC
If you are into mystery and loved (or would love) Salem, MA, this spring getaway is for you. Roanoke is haunted by the mysterious disappearance of the original 16th-century colonists of the island. Plan this getaway for a date in late spring for ideal weather without summer beach crowds. If you are able to head to Roanoke Island during May, be sure to head to the Lost Colony Theater to catch a team of over 100 actors, dancers, singers and technicians that come together to put together a reimagining of Roanoke's doomed settlement.
Whether you plan to be in Roanoke for a whole week or just a quick weekend, here are some other ideas to fill up your trip. If you love flowers and plants, definitely check out the Elizabethan Gardens - they are open all year round and during late spring will certainly be in bloom! If you want to get some of the most perfect pictures for Instagram, hop in a helicopter and take a tour of the coast of the Outer Banks. Another must see is the Roanoke Marshes Lighthouse - it may be small in size, but you will be amazed by its beauty!
Spring Getaway to Spring Hill, FL
If you love mermaids, this getaway is perfect for you! At the Weeki Wachee Springs State Park, its resident mermaids perform daily for an auditorium of 400 seats. Currently, there are three shows a day, two feature The Little Mermaid songs and story and another features the mermaids singing, eating and drinking under water.
In addition to the mermaid shows, you can also take part in watching wildlife features as well as enjoy a river boat cruise. If you are more adventurous, you should definitely make a reservation to paddle board or kayak down the crystal clear Weeki Wachee River. This is truly an all day activity so the park also has multiple restaurants that you can choose from - both family-friendly and adult-friendly.
If you are looking to make your trip to Spring Hill, FL a few days - there are certainly some other fab things to do! Strong Tower Vineyard is a certified Florida Farm Winery - they grow all of their own wines and bottle everything on site. For anyone who didn't think there was a winery in Florida, Strong Tower proves that theory wrong. If you enjoyed kayaking down the Weeki Wachee River, check out the Bayport River Safari. You can take a river safari or relax on a sunset cruise - either way you will be sure to see some beautiful sites! If you are looking to just relax and catch some Vitamin D, head over to Pine Island Park - where a beach, picnic areas and volleyball court are all at your fingertips!

Spring training is only for the next few weeks, so definitely plan your trip sooner rather than later.

Spring Getaway to Sea Ranch, CA
If you are a nature girl at heart, head to Sea Ranch, CA - located in Sonoma County. We recommend that you stay at the Sea Ranch Lodge, as all of its rooms have gorgeous ocean views. The resort also features the acclaimed Black Point Grill - with internationally influenced food options and a wine list with over 150 wines, this spot does not feel like your average country joint!
As for some things to do in Sea Ranch, there is no shortage. One of the main attractions is whale watching - head to Goat Rock Beach between February and April and you are sure to see some whales! Where there is a recommendation from The Sophisticato, there is generally something wine related to go along with and that hasn't changed with Sea Ranch, where there is the Fort Ross Vineyards. While you are sipping some wine, you will be wow'd by the sweeping views of the coast of Sonoma County.
While in Sea Ranch, there are so many things for you to see at the Salt Point State Park. There are sand dunes, ocean views, grasslands and so much more at this park. You also have the chance to horseback ride as well as hike in this spot.
Spring Getaway to Carlsbad, CA
Carlsbad is known as California's "Village by the Sea" and is known to be quieter than its beach community neighbors to the south like Laguna Beach. Carlsbad boasts miles of coastline with waters made for both swimming and surfing all with a small town vibe. Carlsbad is famous for the 50 acres of flowers that bloom at the Carlsbad Ranch - be sure to experience one of the most overwhelmingly colorful sights that you'll ever see.
If you are looking to get away for a week, Carlsbad is the spring getaway for you! There is so much to do from strawberry picking to wineries to beaches to small town treats, there is so much to do in Carlsbad.

Spring Getaway to Middleburg, VA
If you are a horse lover, then we definitely recommend choosing Middleburg, VA as your spring getaway destination. Not only are there countless wineries and vineyards to visit, but during the third weekend in April, there is a horse racing tradition that has taken place for over 100 years. It all happens at the Glenwood Park Racecourse and, this year, it is on April 22. There are all different admission levels, so there is sure to be a ticket that fits your needs.
Spring Getaway to Mount Desert Island, ME
Aside from being a celebrity hot spot, Mount Desert Island is quiet and relaxing during the spring before all of the summer crowds join in on the fun. It just happens to be the largest island off the coast of Maine and the second largest island, after Long Island, NY, on the eastern seaboard. The area has a very small year round population, making it mainly a vacation destination. There are an over-abundance of seasonal vacation rentals and hotel rooms that will fit any budget.
There are 16 towns located on the island, leaving no shortage of things to do. There are outdoor activities like kayaking and hiking, fabulous restaurants and bars, beaches, shopping, comedy shows, brewery tours and so much more. The scenery is perfect for a romantic getaway or for some time with the girls, but the island, itself, is also child-friendly. When you are planning your trip, make some reservations at Red Sky - a favorite of the celebrities that vacation on the island.
